Great tool for precision

I have big hands and holding down small parts during painting or decal application is tricky. This tool is perfect to hold small pieces in place and give me more freedom to work
It's a solid build, very handy.
Having a way to "lock" it from the base to prevent some unwanted rotations would have been nice, but definitely not a blocker here.

One of the better products of its kind out there. Easy to use, practical, provides better access to difficult to reach areas compared to my previous vise and is really nice to look at. The weighted base is really steady. The tightening knob has no tension so it is easy to accidentally move while painting. The way the vise is stored in the case can cause scratches to the product. Mine came with a minor discoloration on the handle as it was rubbing against the base in the case. I recommend storing with some small cloth between the base and the handle. Also, I placed a rubber protective sticker where the handle touches the base when attached to the base.
